African Parks oversees the largest amount of protected land for any NGO in Africa
San Clemente, Calif.—January 8, 2018—Elephant Cooperation, dedicated to saving elephants and helping children, today congratulated His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales as the newly-appointed President of African Parks, an NGO dedicated to the protection and preservation of wildlife throughout Africa.
Rapidly declining populations of elephants and other threatened species is a dire issue in Africa, due to poaching and poverty, and requires deep commitment, financial aid and world-wide attention in order to curtail their extinction. Prince Harry’s history of supporting conservation and humanitarian efforts, along with his personal experience working with an African Parks team in Malawi on the largest elephant translocation in history, will be of enormous benefit to both wildlife and the local communities surrounding their habitats. Elephant Cooperation has been a contributor and proud supporter of African Parks—donating $5k in 2016 and $30k in 2017—and will continue to make this NGO one of its highest priorities going forward.
