ASIAN ELEPHANT CAMPAIGN

Elephant Cooperation’s Asian Elephant Campaign is an initiative to create safe passage for wild elephants in tea garden communities throughout the North Bengal Corridor Area of India in collaboration with Wildlife Trust of India (WTI).

Donations raised will build community Quick Response Teams (QRT)- task forces which are created to manage human- elephant conflict situations & ensure the right of passage for elephants. The project empowers local communities to better coexist with elephants in the “Tea Garden Belt” region. Each Quick Response Team is made of local volunteers who are equipped with training, proper equipment to act as first line defenders, and tools for education of communities to better understands elephant ecology and behavior.

Elephant Cooperation is raising funds to expand the Quick Response Team network to 45 tea gardens across 14 identified corridors to strengthen the network of elephant conservation and their Right of Passage.
