Grantmaking organization means that as an organization, we raise money here in the U.S. and grant the funds to our partners in Africa.

We have a very generous founder, who underwrites all of our administrative expenses. Donations to Elephant Cooperation will go directly to our partners.

All our partners in Africa are registered charities in their country and are reputable in the conservation community. We also perform site visits with our partners to ensure that donations are going directly to the programs.

We are currently focused on programs in Africa. We have or had granted to partners in Botswana, Congo, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Currently we are only assisting programs in Africa.

Upon your donation, you should receive a receipt or letter. If you do not receive either, please contact us at info@elephantcooperation.com to obtain your receipt.

Please consult with your tax advisor to determine whether your donation is tax deductible in whole or in part.

We are located in San Clemente, California. However, the programs we support are in Africa.

Great question! If you prefer to donate directly to the partners, please do so. Although our partners are registered charities in their country, many of our partners do not have a 501(c)3 standing in the U.S. Some donors prefer to donate through EC because we have a 501(c)3 standing and donations are considered tax deducted.
