These elephants don’t know anywhere else as home. All of them have a story. Orphaning of elephants happens for many reasons. Some are abandoned at birth because they are born premature. Others are severely sick or injured when they are very young, hence being abandoned. And there are those that are too weak to walk especially in the drought season and cannot keep up with the herd. How An Elephant Is Seen…And Protected
Then one day in school, we are taken on a surprise trip to the game reserve. We get to see the elephant. We are in awe! We are totally amazed at how gentle this animal is. It’s still amazingly big. Actually, bigger than anyone has described. While on this trip, we are taught about the elephants. Elephants, too, get nervous just like humans. ANNOUNCEMENT: First Well of 2017 equals more water for elephants!
We are excited to announce that Elephant Cooperation initiatied its first borehole of 2017! This is our second attempt at drilling, and we are ecstatic to announce that we have successfully hit water! Because of YOUR support and our partners at Wildlife Works, this borehole is made possible. Now, more animals (including elephants) will have access to water during the drought!
